Hey y'all! This is my hello....
Where did it all start? Well, it started in an athletic club. Yep, you heard me- an athletic club in Charlotte, NC in 1999. I worked part-time as the desk attendant handing out locker keys, headphones (and not ear buds), and athletic towels; booking squash and racquetball courts, and greeting members. One day, in August, a member walked up and asked me if I was interested in a full-time job. Well, since I was juggling two part-time jobs- and since I was planning a February wedding, this seemed like a good idea.
So, I started working as a data entry and shipping clerk with Hoppy Hopkins' promotional products company. Hoppy's been around the business since 1985. I learned quickly that attention to detail was paramount in this business. Every single little typo I made on those pink dot matrix triplicate forms landed back on my desk to be corrected before it would leave his hand to be delivered the appropriate receiver. I learned a lot. I learned that missing the special delivery instructions mattered. Plugging in the quantity price correctly could make the difference in thousands in billing. Getting a PMS color exactly right, mattered. He never let a mistake get by. It drove me crazy, but I got really good at catching my errors before handing him the orders. I learned about shipping, and receiving, and company stores, and fulfillment, I learned the ins and outs of the jargon for apparel, and promo products and ever changing artwork standards (hey, email art was new, y'all!). I learned about handling customer orders, and service and trouble shooting. Eventually, I became his office manager, and I handled all things A/R and A/P too. Then I had my kiddos, and ever since then, I have been working in this business. Even after we moved to Texas 11 years ago.
And I have to thank Hoppy for bringing me here, to this point where in the fall of 2017- I started feeling like I was confident enough and ready to start my own thing. I kept waking up every morning with an idea, and then another, and then another.... until I couldn't leave it alone anymore. Someone once told me that when you're supposed to do something, it won't leave you alone. I had to pull the trigger. With Hoppy's gracious blessing, a nudge from above, and the support of my family- I am here now, as Hello Imprint LLC.
I believe that a gift- even a promotional product- should feel like an extension of who you are and what the recipient wants or needs. I believe it should be personal. Our brand logo is built from my own handwriting because I want every experience with Hello Imprint to be a personal one that builds a relationship. My clients have become my friends. They know I scout the best price for them, they know I watch the details, and they know I will deliver. As a result, I get to enjoy their loyalty and trust in the buying and consultation process.
I thank you sincerely for being here, for being a part of my brand, and helping me build it even bigger.
P.S.... Now, here's the nitty-gritty stuff that most websites put up. You can put the tissue away, now.
